Okay, what's the story with Identapods? How do they actually get my dental appliance so clean?

Think of your Identapod as your personal tech for a flawlessly clean oral appliance. It uses ultrasonic sound waves to create microscopic cleaning bubbles in water. These bubbles work their way into every tiny crevice (places a brush just can't reach) gently lifting away plaque, food particles, and daily buildup. Additionally the UV light adds a powerful sanitizing step for extra hygiene.

For an ultra-squeaky clean we recommend a cleaning solution.

How do I actually use my iDentaPod? Is it complicated?

Easy! Here's the speedy setup for a sparkling clean:

  1. Solution In: Add 3 squirts of the complimentary iDentafy's Cleaning Solution to the empty tank.
  2. Warm Water: Fill with warm (not hot!) tap water to the MAX line.
  3. Quick Mix (Optional): Gently swirl/stir to mix the solution.
  4. Appliance In: Submerge your retainer, aligner, etc., fully.
  5. Power Up: Close lid, plug in, press start. It auto-stops in minutes!

After: Remove appliance, rinse it, and rinse/dry your iDentaPod. Done!

How often should I use my Identapod?

Great question! For your appliance to stay consistently fresh, sparkling clean, and hygienically at its best, we recommend making your Identapod part of your daily routine.

 "Ultrasonic" and "UV" sound pretty intense. Is it safe for my oral appliance?

Absolutely. While the technology is advanced, it's designed to be tough on grime but exceptionally gentle on your appliance.

The ultrasonic cleaning is non-abrasive, so it won't scratch or degrade the material. The UV-C light (if featured) sanitises effectively without any harsh impact.

What can I clean with my iDentaPod? Just retainers?

Your iDentaPod is a cleaning champ, primarily designed for all your oral appliances:

- Clear Aligners & Retainers (all types)
- Night Guards, Bite Guards & Mouthguards
- Dentures (full or partial)

Bonus! It's also great for many types of jewelry (like rings and necklaces – avoid porous stones/loose settings), waterproof watches, and other small, non-porous, water-safe items.

Is there an auto stop function?

Yes, iDentapods are designed for convenience with an automatic shut-off feature. Simply set your appliance in, start the cycle, and it will automatically stop after 5 minutes. No babysitting required!

Um, do I really need a cleaning solution?

Yes we always recommend a cleaning solution. If you want the proper cleaning experience (like the ones you see online) you need a cleaning solution/tablets.

We are not going to BS you and say water alone in an ultrasonic cleaner is a complete fix for cleaning and deodorising oral appliances are oversimplifying things a tad!

You wouldn't use a washing machine without washing detergent, right (we hope so)?

Here's why:

  1. Breaks Down Stubborn Stuff: It acts as a catalyst to help break down and lift away those really tenacious residues – think stubborn plaque or dried-on films – more effectively than water alone.
  2. Tackles Bacteria & Odours: Our solution also helps to neutralise odor-causing bacteria and freshen your appliance, going beyond just physical removal. This is key for that truly clean and confident feel.
  3. Enhances the Clean: It’s a bit like washing dishes: water helps, but detergent is what really cuts through grease, sanitizes, and leaves things spotless and smelling fresh.

Can I use other brands of cleaning solutions or tablets in my iDentapod?

You certainly can. Your iDentapod is versatile! However, a couple of things to keep in mind:

  • Be mindful of ingredients: Some generic cleaners (especially ones designed for dentures) might contain harsh chemicals that could be abrasive or potentially degrade your oral appliance or the pod itself over time.
  • Why we're fans of ours: The Identapods Cleaning Solution is specifically formulated to be effective yet gentle, using non-toxic ingredients (important for something that goes in your mouth!). Plus, its liquid form typically offers more uses per bottle than standard tablet packs, giving you better value and convenience. So, while you have options, we've put a lot of thought into ours!

So how much cleaning solution is needed per use?

Generally we recommend 3 small squirts of solution! You can give it a lil' stir as well for bonus point. No need to over do it! Check our demo video for a better idea.

Realistically how long will a 50ml solution last? It doesn't seem like a lot.

Size does not matter!

Anyway to answer your question:
-once-daily use (3 squirts) you can expect the bottle to last approximately 3 months.
- twice- daily, thats about 1.5 month supply.

That being said, after a couple of uses, you'll quickly get a feel for how much solution you personally need for the best results – everyone "squirts" a bit differently!

Regardless its much better value than a standard box of tablet, although we do agree the fizzing of tablet is quite satisfying...

What type of water is best to use in the Identapod?

Standard tap water works perfectly well for most users. We recommend using warm water (not boiling).

My iDentapod makes a buzzing sound. Is that normal?

Yes, that gentle buzzing or humming is the sound of the ultrasonic transducer working its magic! It's what creates those powerful cleaning waves.

If the sound changes to something loud, sharp, or irregular, then it's best to contact our support team.

How do I clean the iDentapod unit itself?

It’s simple! After each use, empty the water from the stainless steel tank, rinse it briefly, and wipe it dry with a soft cloth. This prevents any residue buildup and keeps your pod in top shape. Just be sure to keep water away from external ports or buttons.

Honestly wasn't sure about spending this much on a cleaner but with three kids wearing retainers I was going crazy trying to keep them properly clean.
